Founded by benefactors, Upton School, as it was originally known, opened in 1936 with just 10 pupils. The school had been the brainchild of two Windsor mothers who saw the need for a good school in the area.

From its early beginnings the school has remained independently run, with a team of talented and caring staff who provide the nurturing and high-achieving start families have sought for their children for almost 90 years.

Upton House School has long been an integral part of the central Windsor community, proudly taking part in local events and fundraising for charities that benefit those in the area and beyond.

The future is bright for Upton House having recently received the highest ISI inspection result possible of ‘excellent in all areas’ (June 2017).

The school has grown from what was a Victorian house to now comprise buildings new and old, including our exceptional arts block, an award-winning Little Upton Nursery, a Prep block, a gymnasium hall, an all-weather court and a 5-a-side football pitch. We also make use of our excellent locality by regularly using off-site venues such as The York Club and the fabulous swimming pools of local senior schools.

We continue to develop and enhance our facilities and the opportunities that our children can enjoy and have recently opened a stat of the art ICT suite to complement our broadcasting suite and music studio.

As we look to the future, Upton does not rest on its laurels and will continue to grow, constantly seeking to improve facilities and learning standards to ensure our history is always one to be proud of.
